I always love this time of year! My kids are usually starting to get really excited for the upcoming holidays, and spending time with their cousins. Of course it’s hectic too with lots of things to go to, and sometimes my sewing gets pushed to the side. Which is also part of the reason that I love doing this blog tour every year. It gets me motivated to get Christmas dresses, or outfits together and ready so I’m not scrambling later on. Simple Life Patterns does a holiday tour each year and I love participating! This year, I really wanted to make something more casual, but also still cute for her. The knit Patricia pattern delivered!
The Patricia pattern is actually drafted for woven fabrics, but there’s an extra add on pattern that has pieces for making it using knit fabric. With my daughter’s red hair, she always looks really good in blues, so when I came across this Michael Miller fabric on the So Sew English Fabric website I knew it was the one. It wasn’t “Christmas” fabric per say, but to me it still gave the vibe of a Christmas feel. The woodland animals with the floral and greenery remind me of winter.
I really like that the Patricia pattern has a hi-low bodice which then gives the skirt a hi-low effect as well. The deep scoop in the back of the bodice adds detail as well. The knit add on has the long sleeves which are really nice for those of us in cooler climates. We really enjoyed being able to get together with friends for this photoshoot, in which they were all wearing Simple Life Patterns as well.
It’s so nice to be able to get together with Sew Sophie Lynn and her girls. They’re always a delight and they’re so sweet. Check out her blog to see which patterns she sewed up in these gorgeous fabrics that you see. There’s also a huge sale going on over on the Simple Life Pattern company website with 40% off all patterns until 11/25/19.
Also don’t forget to check out all the giveaways going on this week too! There’s some great prizes!
